The two games that stand out are Shaktar and Viking. It will be a tough test against the Ukranians and obivously we should know how to team s shaping up for the season ahead against Viking.

Hopefully we're still in Europe at this stage too. Smile

Why are Rosenborg always in the Maspalomas tournament?

Nice 2-0 win over Helsingborgs, I take it Henke didnt play?

Still, a clean sheet is always welcome no matter the opposition. Hopefully we'll see more of those this season, I think we will with Jarstein in goals. (Quality goalkeeper, easily the best in Norge IMO.)

Yes, Henke didnt play.
Helsingborgs did actually play with only Reserve-player..

Rosenborg should btw. have won 7/8-0. RBK

Pity we didn't win the Gran Canaria tournament, but losing on penalties in only the 2nd game after winter break is not too bad. The first goal by Las Palmas was an error by Jarstein, he should not have left his goal on that cross, but let's not judge him on one error. Seems Kone was a constant danger to the Spanish defenders, having created several chances and scoring a goal.

Did any RBK fans travel to the Canary Islands? I had the impression there was a decent crowd, but the majority were probably fans of the local club Las Palmas...

by the way, video of the game can be seen at the RBK TV area of www.rbk.no Tommel'n opp! Especially the Kone goal with the bycicle kick of Strand was really nice.

Yeah, Roar Beach should sign a new four year contract Wink I think the loss to Las Palmas was a very bad management, even tho it is early in the season and so on. Its yet Las Palmas, almost last in Segunda. Teams like that should be peace of cake at any date of the year.

I'd rather call this drawing to Las Palmas, losing sounds harsh when a penalty shoothout is needed (penalties are always a lottery rather than the strongest team winning it). Plus, this draw came with not even two weeks of training while the opposition is in the middle of their season... I am not saying a 2-2 versus Las Palmas is a good result, but let's also not be too hard on the players, it is very early in the season for us...

Seen the highlights, decent result I guess but it's obviously early days. Bodo might struggle this season I think.

Quick question about Abrahallen, it is owned by RBK yes? Has anyone here played there and what's the surface like?

If RBK were to install an artificial pitch we might have to start playing there more often to adjust. For me though it has to be grass despite the state some pitches get into during winter. Smile

The pitch in the Abrahall is 5-6 years old, so it is not so new. But a new artificial grass pitch was established on the Lerkendal training field last year.

So far our friendlies are promising. Even if Bodø are not a top team at all, they are in the Tippeligaen and to score 8 goals in a game is promising. If we can keep up this form, we should have a good start in the Tippeligaen.

Of course, let's see what our expected rivals are doing. How are the results of Brann and Valerenga so far?

That explains why I could not find any information on them yet.

This is weird though. We started our trainings almost 4 weeks ago and they haven't played a game yet?? I thought Brann also has a European game upcoming and that a bit of games are quite necessary if they want to somewhat have a chance against Everton...

But no complaints, this can only mean we will start the Tippeligaen better prepared than our rivals. Or more tired, you could say, but I don't believe that. I don't know but I have a good feeling about this season. Our transfers look promising, the first friendly games were good (even when the opposition was not top of the world...).

Well i don`t think Brann are really trying in the UEFA cup. Think they only focus on the league.

Cant wait for the Godset game, does anyone agree with Rosler in that they play the worst football? i.e lump it to Kovac. Still, a fitness exercise more than anything and a chance for new players. It's on TV2 so it'll be my first game of the season. Smile

1-0 against Godset, what did we learn from this game do you think?

Traore seems to be useful enough in defence but I'm worried about his ability to defend set pieces. Demidov looked ok. Godset wil be a difficult nut to crack again this year for many with their more defensive style.

Edit - On another note, the scoreline that caught my attention was VÃ¥lerenga - Molde 1-3. This poses a couple of questions, will VIF again fail to live up to expectation and will Molde surprise some people?

I think both will do well to get anywhere near the top.

Valerenga did not play any games so far, so I would not jump to conclusions about that loss against Molde. I do not expect Molde in the top of the tables, although they are probably too strong to be a candidate for going down. Not that I would mind... Razz

0-2 versus Donetsk Sad

Well, it is early season, and it was against strong opposition. But this does not give a confidence boost with Fiorentina coming up.

Donetsk is a very good team, they played very well.
But I think we wild play better against Fiorentina. Wink RBK
