Not sure if there's any other people here interested in non-FIFA football (I am very interested and collect all sorts of facts of football in places like Greenland, Falkland Islands, N.Cyprus, ...)

The NF Board, which is basically a federation for all countries not affiliated with FIFA, is hosting its first 'alternative World Cup' in November, hosted in Occitania. Amongst the participants are Occitania, Southern Cameroons, Sapmi (Lapland), probably also the Moluccos and Tibet (both waiting for a final confirmation)

At the same time however the non-FIFA scene in torn in two camps... Northern Cyprus was due to host this alternative World Cup but was cancelled as host nation for political reasons. As N.Cyprus does not accept this, they decided to host their own alternative world cup (ELF Cup) with Afghanistan, Tadjikistan, Greenland, N.Cyprus itself and very likely Kosovo as participants.

It's a pity to see the non-FIFA nations being seperated in two tournaments while this would have been a unique opportunity to present themselves to the outside world, united for a place in the spotlights...

NF Board hosts all territories and countries not affiliated to FIFA, purpose is to promote their football development and help them getting attention until FIFA is willing to accept them. Most of the countries are either not accepted into FIFA for political reasons or for practical reasons.

Most famous members of the NF Board (associate members and full members both included):

Tibet

Chechenya

Greenland

Sapmi (Lapland)

Aland Islands

Shetland Islands

Isle of Man

Jersey

Guernsey

Kosovo

Gibraltar

Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus

S. Moluccos

Tuvalu

Zanzibar

Western Sahara

Falkland Islands

Monaco

Vatican City

Micronesia

...

Of these nations Gibraltar is 99% sure to be accepted into FIFA in 2007, while Greenland, Vatican City, and Tuvalu all will probably become a member too in the not very far future.

Northern Cyprus, Kosovo, Tibet, etc had membership requests bounced back for political reasons, while Isle of Man, Jersey, etc were rejected as UEFA considers them part of England. _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!
