PostPosted: 10.08.2009 22:08    Post subject: Looking to purchase RBK jersey and/or scarf Reply with quote

Any advice for a guy in Chicago to buy a RBK jersey (prefer black) with all the sponsor patches/prints , etc. I'd like to buy either the 2008 or 2009 black jersey if possible.

I'd also like to buy a standard RBK black scarf or would even trade a Chicago Fire scarf or Chicago Fire supporters scarf for an RBK supporters scarf.

I can't seem to find anywhere on the internet that sells these items and I've even written an email to the RBK Shop (in English) 3 weeks ago about making a purchase but heard nothing back from them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

RBK-shop.no is probably the one and only choice you have.

Just register an account on the webpage, place your order and pay with a credit/debit card.

That, or you can check on ebay, but RBK stuff is hard to find. Not to mention I've never seen a full-patched RBK shirt sell for less than 60-70 bucks...

Thanks Loki and attach!

I would register online if I could read Norwegian.

I hope they can ship to the USA.

Thanks again.

They should ship the the U.S, I bought season 2006 shirt online and everything was fine. Not sure what dollar-krone exchange rate is like, could be quite expensive for you.

I'm looking to buy last years black long sleeve jersey which should be approximately US$50 plus taxes and shipping.

Could one of the Norwegian locals here send me a cheat sheet on how to fill out the online registration?

Here's the shirt. Is this is adult XL?

Spilletrøye 2008, borte L XL
Kr. 299,-
Kr. 299,-

Totalsum ordre
Kr. 299,-

Here's the registration. I could use some help to how to fill out in English.

Thanks Loki!

So should it look like this for example?

Address: 12345 Main Street
Zip Code: 60563
City: Chicago, IL USA

Here in the US it would look like this:

12345 Main Street
Chicago, IL 60563

I think it's right.

Careful though, for as far as I remember, the State/Country field doesn't work correctly/doesn't show up in the order form.

(the registration form and the order form are slightly different IIRC)

Eventually you can just put "Chicago, IL, USA" in the City field. Or send an e-mail to check the order

[I did that so often I think the guys at RBK shop probably have listed my email address as spam Wink]

Thank you so much Loki.

I also just downloaded a Norge/English dictionary.

Hopefully the staff at RBK Shop will know a little English so they can respond to my email. Especially when I ask, "how much is shipping to Chicago, IL?"

I set up my account now, so all I need to do is order the jersey and call my credit card company to let them know I'm making an international purchase.

I hope the adult XL is the same as adult XL here in the US.

Cool

My guess is that the norwegian sizes probably are a bit smaller than the US ones.

My 2006 CL long-sleeves shirt is approx 23" across the chest and 26" from collar [front] to hem.

The 2008 model seems slightly tighter, but I don't have an XL to give you the exact measurements.

I wonder if the 2009 jerseys fit a little bigger than 2008. I'd like to purchase a shirt that fits a bit larger since I'm an old American football player (old high school linebacker).

Cool

So maybe I should look at this shirt if it's a bit larger than the 2008 version.

If the 2008 and 2009 jerseys are the same aize, then I'll just go with the 2008 model and fit into it.

I wondered about sizes until I visited the store after RBK-Chelsea couple of years back. I was a small...and bought a small.

Thanks to a member on this board I received my RBK jersey and scarf this week.

I love it!

I will wear it for the upcoming Chicago Fire game and post some photos of me and my friends at our pregame tailgate and in the stadium.

Excuse me? You're going to wear a RBK-jersey on a Chicago Fire-game? Seriously? Neutral

Is there a problem with that?

I'm comfortable enough to wear a jersey from another team, on the other side of the ocean from us that doesn't compete in our league for a game.

It's not like I'm going to run into someone who will take issue with it.

It's common for people to wear shirts from english football clubs on matches in Norway, I guess it's not much different abroad. However, I do not approve of the usage.

Strand took the words right out of my mouth. Eighter you go in you teams jersey (or scarf or hat or whatever), or you go in neutral clothes. I get ill and bad-tempered each time I see someone in the stands on a game in the Tippeliga (or any other league or teamsport, for that matter) wearing a jersey from a team that's not playing.

I don't see the point, and in my opinion it's quite frankly a sign of lack of respect for the teams on the field.

With all due respect, I couldn't care less about your valued internet opinion from over 4,0000 miles away on what I should or should not wear on game day. Heck, I wouldn't care even if you were AT the game this Saturday here in Chicago to be honest.

I've supported my club as long as I've lived in Chicago - 9 years as a season ticket holder @ 2 seats x $650 each, not to mention buying additional seats for certain games, purchasing team gear and donating to the supporters section every year for tifo and banners. I've traveled a hell of a lot farther to support the Fire than you ever have for RBK I'm certain, so spare me your definition of "respect". Or you can just shove it up your cake hole, either way. . .

For what it's worth to help calm your precious feelings, I always wear something Chicago Fire related into stadium. Now If wearing a RBK shirt (a team I support) to a MLS game means I've lost all respect from people over the internet . . . I guess I'll have to find the strength to get over it. Rolling Eyes

Here's a suggestion for you Bakkland, stop getting ill-tempered and all bent out of shape over things you cannot control and you'll live a happier life. Now you can choose to take or not take my valued advice and it won't hurt my feelings at all, promise.

I do not approve of people having to tell others what they approve of Razz
Let the guy wear whatever he wants! I think it's a cool thought that someone in the US, or wherever it might be in the world, chooses to wear a Rosenborg-jersey.
But offcourse... I do get what both Strand and Bakklandia says, and to some degree I am enklined to agree with them.
Just make sure you wear your team's scarf or something Smile

I think it's funny that people get their panties all in a twist over what they think is good form or not regarding game day clothes.

Life must be pretty easy and uneventful if they consider this a serious issue in their lives.

I actually didn't mean to offend you, nor did I intentionally mean to critizise personaly, even if I do see that it looks like I did. I was planning for it to be a general rant, and I'm actually sorry for making it look like I intentionally directed the rant at straight at you.

And to be honest, I do also like the idea of a Rosenborg-jearsy on an a american - that's awsome! I see that you cleary are a true Fire-fan, I salute you for that - it's fans like you that keeps the clubs alive. Take a bow!

And, I guess it's not a big problem "Over there" anyhow - here you can find people who call themself fans of a certain team, but, when said team is drawn agianst a big - often english - team, you can see the same people showing up at the stadium to support that other big team, and that's just makes me furious - I mean, WTF?

And it's the tought of the fact that the people showing up at Lerkendal for a game against Molde in a Man Utd-jersey probaly would show up to a game between Rosenborg and Man Utd wearing Man Utd-gear and support them, and actually would be disapointent if Rosenborg where to defeat them that bugs me - beacouse that's where the disrespect comes in.

And I know that no hard-corefan like ourself would ever even consider doing something like that, and that I therefore just should let it be. But I can't help myself from getting annoyed about it! But, in retrospect, I see that i should have made this more clear before I ranted away like some sort of bessewisser - wich I also have some issuses with, but that's another story!

I don't think that our american friend have the same point of view as us europeans on this matter. In the US it is common for fans from both teams to sit mixed at the stadium, they don't segregate the fans (as far as I know, this is usual in most sports in the US). MLS is also a young league, and most teams does not have the same kind of history or rivalry as you see in Europe. I guess it's not problematic at all to to wear shirts from other clubs, sports and so on over there. If I however went to see Rangers - Celtic, and sat with the home crowd wearing the wrong shirt... they would probably give me a bad kind of kiss*.
