Berisha Joins Rosenborg On Loan
The Albanian striker missed almost the whole 07/08 season because of a knee injury. Hopefully he's fully fit. |

Just a quick tip, Burnley's manager is called Owen Coyle. I should know, he's Scottish. |

Is that good? Do you know anything about him? It seem kind of strange that a player who has been injured for so long time, comes to RBK for a loan until new year. Do you think he can contribute with somethin om that short time? |

hamren had him on loan at aalborg where he made 3 appearances and failed to score.
his most consistent season would see a return of 11 goals from 31 games while also in danish league at horsens.
so he deserves a chance i guess, although what does this mean for kenny cooper? |

I've only seen him once in an FA Cup match I think and he was good in that match...
Then I didn't hear about him for a while... until now. _________________ thecomplexii.com - Founded 2005 |

Your English is far better than my Norsk, I wouldn't worry!
I agree with other members in that It does seem a strange signing, I guess we'll have to trust Hamren on this one. I'm sure even he might admit the gold this season is beyond us. However, I guess we need short-term cover hence this signing.
I think he'll be looking to secure more attackers for next year over the winter shut-down. |

I know a little bit about AC Horsens, and most people I've spoken with have a lot of good things to say about him. Apparently he's a good, unorthodox dribbler with a very direct approach to goalscoring. Neither very fast nor very good at heading, but good at positioning himself. And a good kick. _________________ "Engang en ret forvoven Jyde

I spoked to him yesterday, and he's not that diplomatic towards Burnley in real life. He doesn't know what to do in December. Going back to England will be a brand new start since he still hasn't made his official debut for Burnley and the coach (Owen Coyle) is not the same as the one who bought him (Steve Cotterill). |

What exactly are the conditions of this loan in terms of chances to keep him long-term if he keeps doing well?
His first game was great, superb debut. And against Molde, he surely knows how to make a memorable entry _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

Rosenborg have no buy option, but if both Berisha and the club want to continue together, I doubt Burnley won't accept a fair offer.
After all he still has not made his debut for Burnley, and the coach is new since last year. |

Buy options are quite common in Norway, but are they in the UK? I guess Burnley was the part who was not interested in including this in the loan deal.
Actually I think Rosenborg should not include buy options when we let our players go on loan. If the players become a success (e.g. Sebastian Eguren in Hammarby), such deals are bad for the club. Even if we might not be interested bringing the player back, his market value has increased and all this growth is given to the other club.
Coyle seems keen on bringing Bes back:
"I'm absolutely delighted for him, and really delighted for us, because if he continues to get those games he comes back, and it's served the purpose that Rosenborg have given him those games to get fully fit.
"We've got a player coming back confident, knowing he's ready to play a part, so it's a win-win situation."
(...)
And Coyle reiterated that he is very much still a part of his plans: "(Selling him) hasn't even been discussed. It's a view to getting him fit so he's got a role to play when he comes back in January."

But as mentioned earlier on, Berisha might not share his English employer's enthusiasm... |

I do think we should have some sort of buy option before taking loan deals generally. I mean, we should not be a sort of training camp, if we help to rise a player's profile and the player is happy with us it would only make sense for both parties to turn the love affair into a marriage (hmmm, nice metaphor, not? ). I guess Burnley have a point that even if they demand him back we had our benefits or profits from using him for a while, but I do hope they at least have a minimum commitment and cannot just call him back anytime when they would face injuries or so? _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

“It is always a bit sad to leave after familiarising with a new place, a new club and new people. All in all I have enjoyed my stay here,” he said as he departed Norway. “In hindsight, I have thought that the debut might maybe have been slightly too good.
“But, after it went a little downhill for a while, I felt that I have gradually come back and that everything improved for me within the club. I have got good friends here, friends that I will have for a long time. I would have liked to stay here.
“Obviously I wanted to play more, but Konan Ya and Iversen have been a very good duo, and when I see them play that well I understand why I have not played more.”
