In a month's time Nightwish is giving a concert nearby my place. They have just finished a Scandinavian tour I believe, so maybe some of you have seen them? Is the new singer any good live? I consider going to the concert, but I am not sure if it will be the same like before when Tarja was still with the band ... Even though on record the new singer sounds okay, especially "Amaranth" is a really nice song Tommel'n opp! But is she any good live? I read they still play songs from the era when Tarja was with the band, which is quite risky because the new singer has a different type of voice than Tarja.

OK, I will soon answer my own question. I am going to see Nightwish in concert during the upcoming European tour. I am looking forward to the concert, if the live performances on YouTube are any reliable the new singer should be doing a fine job.

Also, to those also interested in gothness, the new Bauhaus album leaked on the internet. Haven't heard it myself yet but reviews so far are disappointing. I am waiting until I heard the album myself though, it should be on RapidShare entirely but I haven't found the files yet myself...

I went to an eighties music night last weekend. Good stuff, nice memories. Some nineties also included. Erasure, Ace of Base, Right Said Fred, Vengaboys, Haddaway, Tiffany, A-Ha, Wham, Alphaville, .... Guilty pleasures allright, but the melancholy attached to it makes it pleasurable.

Is A-Ha still in existance? I know it is pop/commercial, but it is not bad at all. Take On Me still makes me smile no matter how often I hear it, dito for Sun Always Shine On TV, and their cover of Crying In The Rain was really good. Also, I heard Morten Harkett would maybe be an Aspie (I told before here that I am mildly autistic myself, asperger syndrome to be precise) and I do like it when other aspies prove that autism does not stop you to realise your dreams in life.
Is A-Ha still existing though? The last I heard from them was about 4 years ago I believe. They are enjoyable for sure, although I do still believe Lene Marlin is the best musician in Norway.

PS, what about Turbonegro? Saw them live once when they did the support act of Marilyn Manson. That singer is insane with his beer belly and viking custome Razz Their lyrics are perverted though.

a-ha still exist, but Paul, Magne and Morten can only stand each other for a limitid amount of time, so they have quite a few, and long, "dead-periods"

Turbo I don't know, but I think they are still going strong also.

Speaking of a-ha: http://www.funnyordie.com...e062d7b4d5

Internal twists within A-Ha? But they do still record and tour?

Is it true that Morten has a mild form of autism? It has been heavily insinuated on the autism forums where I post. Apparently he has several serious aspie traits. While it would not make a difference music-wise, I do find it interesting when a fellow aspie makes it (for the same reason, although they are by far not as good as A-Ha, I do keep an eye out for The Vines)

But Lene Marlin is the best from Norway. Her debut album, she was only 17 but damn it sounded so good and mature. And she is so damn cute, really my type of girl Smile

Yeah, they still do that. It's not som much internal twists as it is personalities that just don't go too well together.

Autis-roumers goes in Norway from time to time, but they have, as far as I know, never been confimred.

The best Norwegian bands are Motorpsycho, from Trondheim, and De Lillos. Smile

Big day tomorrow in the United States and I guess in the entire world. So who is going to win? Will McCain beat the odds or will Obama as expected be the next president?

I hope Obama is going to make this. I don't agree with him on anything (I do not support the death penalty, I do support gay marriage, etc) but he seems far more moderate on those topics than McCain. Also, some of his healthcare policies and foreign affair ideas are very good. McCain may be a light version of the standard Republican, but the man is probably not going to last for another 4 years which would mean Sarah Palin comes in charge, and she is crazy enough to turn the States in a theocracy, a christian carbon copy of Saudi Arabia. Ideally Ralph Nader would have a chance as well but the media basically shuts down the voice of any third party, even though the guy has a good program.

Anyways, fingers crossed for Barack tomorrow.

If McCain manages to close the gap Obama has on him, I will be both very suprised and impressed. Hat's of to him, then.

But, I McCain gets to be president, then God help us all. He is like Bush - only times ten.

Obama will probably make USA a country the world can be proud off once again.

I dubt that "the world" would be "proud" of USA no matter who wins.

Generally I belive that the differences between the two are overestimated. In Norwegian, or European, context the differences are small. The best "the world" can hope for is a decent USA.

What a triumph for Barack Cool He won 11 million votes more generally, got well over 300 people in the electoral congress, he even won traditionally republican states such as Florida, New Mexico and Colorado. This is not even a narrow win, this is just a walk over. The world can hope for better times again. Just a pity that he can only start work in January, Bush may very well f*ck up things in those last 2 months to leave Obama with an even bigger pile of dirt to clean. But even of that I think he is capable. For once America voted with ratio. Just a pity the triumph is overshadowed by the death of his grandmother.

Anyway, I am very happy with this electoral outcome, I think the majority of the world wanted him to win.

Those who have Facebook, there is a George Bush Countdown Clock now which you can add to your Facebook page. Great tool Smile (by the way, there is a Rosenborg Facebook group on there as well, I just noticed it yesterday and joined of course)

I hope one of the first things Obama does as president is to make the USA recognise the Tribunal in the The Hague so that we can have Dubya appearing for court because of war crimes. He can spend his next term in a nice prison cell next door to Milosevic and other famous warlords of the past 15 years.

My local team are playing against Clyde tomorrow here in Scotland...with Robbie Winters playing for them. Will be interesting to see if he can still play a bit. Smile

Hold on, who's your local team then?

Beating Clyde, shouldn't be much of a problem though, on the face of it. They're bottom of the league after all. And I'm sure, that with Rabbie Winters on their side, they're headed for league 2 with a spring in their step.

Ross County, in the north of Scotland.

Anyway, it's obvious to see why Winters left Brann last season, he would not have been good enough to operate in the top of the Tippeligaen this season. Whilst he had good touches and still plays very cleverly, his lack of pace and physique enabled our defence to easily deal with him.

The fact that we dominated the game even after losing a player to a red card on 30 minutes showed how poor Clyde were and why they're going into the Scottish third tier.

All in all, I would advise Robbie to hang up his boots at the end of this season (May), though we have in Craig Brewster a 42 year old in attack too. Smile

Who was RBK's oldest player to play a league game? I would imagine Roar Strand is up there, though I guess this year will be his last too.

Save Cork City

An Irish top team in major trouble. A friend of mine in Ireland is a hardcore fan in Rebel Army and his club is now close to an end.

Not that I have made my support, but you should!! Razz

I hold a wee torch for Morton, myself. Saw a couple of games back in 2002, when they were playing in the third league. Not a lot of "Modern Football" at Cappielow back then...

Agree with you about Robbie. Fortunately, being an Ayrshire lad he won't have far to go to get home from Clyde.
