Viking and Aalesund are (similar?) clubs which doubled their average attendances after building new stadiums. |

Stavanger is a relatively big city which is also rapidly growing, so the population pool and number of potential fans is still growing. Stavanger is economically doing very well, also an important criterium for a city that wants to have a good sports team.
Viking and Stabaek seem imcomparable to me. Dont dare to judge Aalesund. _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

The population pool is bigger in Bærum/Oslo than in Stavanger anyway. But Stabæks problem is the same as it is for Lyn/VIF, that it's a lot of people from "out-of-town" living there and they are already supporting people from their "home area". But I think it might be somewhat easier for Stabæk than for Lyn, if they manage to create their own "Bærum identity" and attract people that doesnt currently have a team. Lyn/VIF have a long history at the top level and this might work as both a "pull factor" and a "push factor". |

4th, about right?
Looks like we'll have to win the UC this year!
(Some win for Stabaek tonight, a Cup Final win against VIF will round off an almost perfect year for them.) |

stabaek were impressive alrite,6-2 against valerenga is not an easy feat.
im still keeping the fingers crossed for 3rd place and a solid uefa run.we hit a great run of form recently but the draw with stromgodset followed by the lillestrom result show things are falling short but keep the faith |

Bye bye bronze And to lose it right at Lillestrom, that is painful. But well, we lost it earlier on in the season more so than yesterday I guess. I know, we have a small chance left, but be realistic. Is Stabaek really going to bother to use their best players and risk tiredness and injuries, fly all the way up to Tromso to give 100% efford in (in this time of the year) very harsh weather conditions up there?? Stabaek already won the league and the last thing they need is injuries just before their cup final. Lets face facts, Tromso is very likely going to face a B squad or at least a demotivated squad. The bronze is theirs for grabs, all they need to do is to beat a team travelling very far for a game where they got nothing to gain or lose anymore. No Europe next year I guess *sigh* _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

i agree with your thoughts gerrit that stabaek will field a weakend team however im not givin up on 3rd place until its mathematically beyond us.after all the players who will take to field for stabaek will be vying for positions for cup final and will be out to impress the manager.so we will wait and see what happens but where theres a will theres a way |

Tromsø hasn't won in ages and I guess Stabæk has decent players anyway. We shouldn't give up.
But I have to say that Tromsø is lucky when it comes to fixtures. They always seem to be playing the champions in the last game. Brann was beaten 3-0 in the last round in 2007 and who can ever forget their 1-0 win at Lerkendal in 2003 |

Over and out. No Europe next year. Sigh... Well, lets not be sour losers and congratulate Tromsø. Somehow I expected them to beat Stabaek, Stabaek would have been silly anyway to go 100% in a game which was totally unimportant to them. For us it is a bad end to a mediocre season but I still wonder if we would not have been champions had Hamren been in charge since day 1. _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

The worst part about this is that we ended up behind a team that played in Adecco last year. _________________ Det er bedre å stupe ut i smørøyet enn å gå rundt grøten! |
