Quote:

Seems pretty real this one. But I don't think Rosenborg will be interested in a loan like this.

Rekdal was near to be fired last month and our club is near the end. But thats not because of Rekdal. There are many stories in the last months about our club but only negative ones Sad Iversen might be a positive one.

If there are any hints in your newspapers, tell me Wink

It said that Lautern wanted Iversen on a loan.

Rekdal however rejects this.

Steffen Iversen to Lazio?

Gazzetta dello Sport is usually a reliable source, so this is interesting.

May some one please give me a correct translation of the last paragraph?

Quote:
L'affare potrebbe concretizzarsi presto, perchè su cifre decisamente abbordabili: 1,5 milioni per il cartellino della punta e 500mila euro d'ingaggio annuali. Si può fare.

The deal could materialise soon, because on figures decidedly affordable: 1.5 million for the card tip and 500 thousand euros of annual engagement. Si può fare. It can be done.

Is it €1.5M in transfer fee to Rosenborg and €500k in salary to Iversen?

The sums seem realistic.

Edit: It has been confirmed that my understanding is correct.

I am quite tired with his constant hints of leaving - in contrast to what he said when he returning two years ago, claiming he would play for us until retiring.

A year ago he was close to sign for Genk, in December he wanted a loan at Wolves and confirmed that he wants to leave.

Even though he was our topscorer both in 2006 and 2007, I would like to sell him - as long as we keep Yssouf Kone.

You are correct (with the translation).

I am getting a bit tired of it as well. It was rumoured in Belgium last year that he sort of used Genk in order to force Rosenborg on improving his salary. So maybe his real intention is to stay at Lerkendal but trying to get a bit of financial bonus once again.

Anyway, IF he is still devoted to Rosenborg I would want him to stay, he is a certainty for goals. That is, IF he really wants to stay... Didn't Kone also give hints that he would like to leave?

Can you give me more details about that article? Why did he reject?

He rejected that they had tried to get Iversen to Germany, there had not been any contact between Kaiserslautern and Iversen at all. Rekdal said that the german papers was lying about the possible transfer and the contact with Iversen.

There were rumors before Christmas that Cluj (of course) wanted to buy Kone, and at the same time he rejected an improved contract offer from Rosenborg and said he wanted to move to Romania. A few days later he said he wasn’t so sure after all and wanted to think about his future at Rosenborg during Christmas. Hopefully things will get sorted out soon.

I hope either he or Steffen stays. We need someone that easily scores... The question is of course if they are still with Rosenborg in heart...

In the case that they would leave, are there any other strikers that are rumoured to join Rosenborg shortly?

Iversen's adviser ("agent") Christian Eidem confirms the interest from Lazio: Iversen kan være på vei til Lazio

Iversen and Eidem are using FIFA agent Giovanni Branchini as intermediary.

Christian Eidem told Norwegian TV2 that Iversen is positive to a transfer to Lazio.

But still no official bid from Lazio, and it is very unclear how Rosenborg will react.

Today the newspapers and websites are full of the Iversen rumour again. Confused Although Rekdal reject in Norway press they seem to negotiate for him.

Why would he want to move to second division in Germany? Confused With Rosenborg he can play in Europe and play for the national league championship, if he'd go to a second division team he would get out of the spotlights completely. Unless Kaiserslautern would pay a lot more than RBK (which would surprise me) I don't understand why Steffen would consider the move. Lazio is a different story of course, but I think the RBK management just needs to force him to stick to his existing contract and remind him of his promise to play for RBK till he retires. He still has 3 years of contract so we are in no need at all to sell him now.[/i]

I can't see Iversen stepping down to the 2nd Bundesliga.
