As I supposed, Lars could be on way out of Lerkendal. Jarstein was promised the no.1-status and there could be no more space for one of the best RBK-players in 2007. Since he came from Tromsø, Lars was very stable. But now he is about to leave Trondheim. As Hoftun says there are three good keepers for one spot in the goal. Hoftun goes on with saying that the future of Hirschfeld is not clear. Lars' contract goes out in 2008.

Adresseavisen's article is a month old news: Uncertain future for Hirschfeld (29/11/07)

As I wrote back then, I think the signs from Lars is more clear than he and Rosenborg so far say. If he had wanted to extend his contract, he of course would have said so.

His future wife (their wedding is maybe today???) studies in Canada, and won't move eastwards. I guess he signs for some MLS club.

The question is when the transfer will be done. In 2003 Arni Arason was in the same situation as Hirschfeld. He had been the first choice for some years, but was benched because he rejected extending his contract. Rosenborg then decided to keep Arason as back-up the whole season, until he left for Manchester City as free agent.

Whether Rosenborg want Hirschfeld as back-up in 2008, I don't know. Alex Hansen has been a good reserve for years, so Hirschfeld is strictly not needed...

I would love Lars to stay. Of course, if he wants to be with his girl, this is understandable, even though going to the MLS would be a step back career-wise. Can his girlfriend not continue her education in Norway at university?

But has Jarstein already signed his contract? At rbk.no earlier today it said that the agreement is only an oral agreement for now, so this would indicate no signature has been put on paper yet?

No signature yet, but in Norway an oral agreement has the same binding as a written agreement.

Will be interesting to have two goalkeepers competing for the number one position.

We have had that before too with Arason VS. Johnsen. Quite the simular situation, when I come to think about it.

but as long as there is no signature, how sure are we that we will see him in the RBK jersey? I heard rumours (not sure if they are reliable) that Arsenal was interested as well... Of course it'd be better for him to be a starter at Rosenborg than a bench-sitter at Arsenal, but as long as the contract is not signed yet we must be careful not to lose the bid.

sorry for going offtopic, but why do you have a Frick image (Liechtenstein player) in your signature? Very original I must say.

As well as supporting England (obviously), Liechtenstein are my second national team. Cool

According to a Romanian agent, Rosenborg and CFR Cluj already have agreed on a transfer fee for Hirschfeld, who is on his honeymoon in Hawaii these days: Dorsins klubb ønsker Hirschfeld

Rosenborg in other words are keen on selling him. The question is whether Hirschfeld is interesting in moving to Romania...

Cluj again? What the hell, do they think we are the only other footballclub in the world?

Why are Cluj targeting RBK too?

They don't seem to be asking any other clubs in Norway..

They tried to get Rami Shaaban from Fredrikstad before Hirschfeld.

Hey guys! The romanian press says that RBK and CFR Cluj agreed for the transfer of Lars Hirschfeld. They also say that the player agreed as well and signed for 4 years.

In case it's all true, could any of you let me know, your oppinion about the player. Do you think it's a good transfer? I would like to know the same things about Mikael Dorsin, in case any of you has time to tell me. I hope you're not angry with us for taking your players.. Confused

Norwegian media said that the clubs have agreed, but nothing about a personal contract. Personally I doubt Hirschfeld will go to Romania..

But I think it is correct by Rosenborg to sell since Lars won't extend his contract. He's a very good keeper, and I personally would like him to stay for years. But we already have a good replacement in Rune Jarstein (Norway reserve), so we will "survive".

Well, I read that our club president confirmed as well, the transfer of Lars. Anyway, no video or audio recording of his confirmation yet, so I have my doubts as well, untill I hear or see. Very Happy

Well yes, but it's a romanian website. If you need a translation, I can provide it, just let me know. But again, with romanian press, you can only be sure when an audio or video recording is available. Very Happy

Hello Rosenborg fans! I am also grateful for the signing of Lars Hirschfeld and Mikael Dorsin. They are for sure quality players and they will help us in our hunt for our first title in the Romanian League. I'm sorry for Rosenborg that we left them "naked" but you can blame on us only the transfer of Dorsin, RBK will receive money for Lars Hirschfeld. But maybe we'll sign a partnership to bring in more players. (just joking with you Very Happy )
Anyway, we CFR Cluj supporters will like to hear your opinion about Mikael Dorsin and Lars so you can make us a visit on our forum : www.cfronline.3x.ro and post your comments in the English Section or at the respective player topics. We CFR Cluj fans are very friendly people and will like to hear your brief descriptions of the players. We have high hopes in Dorsin and Hirschfeld and will to know more about them.
If you are interested in our club, you can check out our style of play by watching this video : http://www.youtube.com/wa...mFu7ds3UWw. We are a fairly new team in Europe although last summer we celebrated our 100 year anniversary. The the only memorable period is when important businessman Arpad Paszkany took over the club 5 years ago. We were in the third division back then and today we're 5 points clear over Rapid in the first league and staying quite comfortably 1st place. We have many foreigners in our team: Portuguese and Argentinian players mainly.
If we win the title, next season we will automatically join the Champions League Groups and we will do our best to at least match Rosenborg's performance, 3rd place. RBK

Most of the posters here feel that we should aim higher than Dorsin and I agree. Lars left after we signed a much better goalie. But they are very fitting for a club of Cluj's stature.
