how could we draw fiorentina out of braga-nürnberg-basel-spartak???? our luck at the cl qualifiers doesn't track us here... at least if we can eliminate fiorentina, we'll have everton or brann, not sth like bayern münchen, villareal or galatasaray... _________________ Since 1917... |

Brann-Rosenborg in the next round would be so cool, a Nordic derby and the winner going very far in Europe. Would be great!
But first Fiorentina... Very tough opponent, not as famous as other Italian teams so not really gonna be a sold-out, and a too expensive trip for many of us. In other words: a crap draw. Only Tottenham would have been worse than Fiorentina. I am really unhappy with this draw.
Still, being crazy enough to want to see more Rosenborg, I am considering coming to Lerkendal for the home game. I will not go to Firenze, even though it seems a faboulous city. But I only have money for 1 travel and then I rather do the home game, combined with some jobhunting in Norway. We'll see if I have the money by February to make the trip, but I won't go to Firenze for sure, I secretly hope to see the home game though. _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

Hopefully we sign some more new players, and then quite a few supporters will be interested in attending their debuts. I also expect Rosenborg to reduce the ticket prices compared to Champions League.
Cesare Prandelli, Fiorentina coach:
"Rosenborg are a very organised and consistent team. In the past they have got some good results against some of the best European sides. I remember when they beat AC Milan. That shows how experienced they are in European competition. Obviously it will be a very difficult game for Fiorentina but we will play with our usual hunger for success and determination. As I have said many times, the UEFA Cup is one of our main objectives for the season and we want to go all the way."

Teams that I did not want:
1) Tottenham
2) Panathinaikos
3) Fiorentina
So it was the third strongest team IMO and we got them... Do not know what I shall think about that?! It is able to get to the next round, but it is also very possible to say goodbye to EC for this season! A good team would have been Nürnberg (very weak in league) or Helsingborgs, maybe also Basel or Moskva... but now we got another hard tour on our journey through europe. England, Spain, Germany and now Italy - the four leading countrys in football (I don´t look at the UEFA-list, it is my opinion). These are very attractive opponents, and of course a season you can look back to with fun to play against such big names: Chelsea, Valencia, Schalke and Fiorentina! I think we have to win at home and put pressure on them for the second match. Then they have to win and we could play a little bit "easier".
Doule fun would be a possible match against Brann in the next round. First of all it will be good for norwegian football, but also nice to get something back after the league (First vs. Fifth).
I am really looking forward to the matches and think the possibility to win are 50-50! _________________ Hilsen fra Tyskland |

Your far to optimistic. Viola are big favourites since we are far off season. I think it is more 65/35 or 70/30. |

I don´t like to be optimistic! I am more realistic, but in fact I am one of the most pessimistic even, I think! I thought RBK would go out of CL group stage with just 2 points (draws home against Schalke and Valencia). But now I have the strange feeling that the chances are not that bad. Florenz is a good team and we miss two of our best players (Riseth, Dorsin), but we are still Rosenborg - the great underdog in EC! A chance could be to play good in a cold Trondheim first, even if a spanish or greek team would be weaker in cold weather! And second, they say that we are strong, but they will underestimate us, for sure!
The chances are not that bad, I think higher than getting a draw in Gelsenkirchen!
I remain for 50-50, maybe now after minutes of thinking 43-57... Bot not less! _________________ Hilsen fra Tyskland |

I am considering coming up to Trondheim to see the game AND to go jobhunting again.
However, moving to Norway gets my priority over a single game, so my question: is end February a good moment to go jobhunting? I know that lot of hotels and bars need extra staff for the tourism season, but is the game not coming too early to have vacancies enough?
If you guys think there should be, then I seriously consider coming. For both game and jobhunt, or as we would say in Dutch (translated) "to couple the pleasant and the useful" _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

February/March is good months to go jobhunting, especially for vacation jobs. If you need a place to stay you are welcome to sleep on a mattress on my bedroom floor a couple of days. I've moved so I don't have any couch to offer anymore. |

That was going to be my place!
I had a comfortable enough stay in the Thon budget near Torvet, would try here as it's reasonable enough. If you have a bit more money then I would choose either the Comfort Hotel Park or Scandic Solsiden.
I spent one night in the Royal Garden Hotel, very nice but very expensive!
It's a shame we didn't get Braga, that would have been ideal considering the Portuguese wouldn't like the Mid-Norge winter. Fiornetina will not like it either though. |

Can I remind you of that? I want to try again to move to Norway and the spring is a good season to go jobhunting in the tourism industry. So I plan a visit to Norway for some jobhunting, obviously with a nice match of as well if possible! _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

Sadly two of our players were injured in this week's internationals; Tettey (U21: Norway vs. Austria) and Stoor (Turkey vs. Sweden). Stoor is likely to regain match fitness, while Tettey is more doubtful. If he can't play, our midfield has to be rearranged because we don't have any other defensive midfielder like Tettey. Bad situation.
The pitch at Lerkendal is however very good. The conditions in Februay have never been better:
May the battle begin! |

Hello,
I don't want to disturb you and I am really sorry if I do it. My mail isn't a spam.
I live in Belgium. I contact you for my hobby. I collect the football tickets and I am currently looking for used tickets from the next match between Rosenborg and Fiorentina for the UEFA cup.
Could you send me here at my home some used tickets from this match if you have them and if you don't need anymore them please ?
Thank you very much for your patience and for your kindness.
Best wishes from Belgium and GOOD LUCK to RBK.

Probable Fiorentina-team:
Frey, Ujfalusi, Gamberini, Kroldrup, Gobbi (Pasqual), Montolivo, Kuzmanovic, Jørgensen, Semioli, Pazzini, Mutu.
Surprisingly Strand is chosen as defensive midfielder for Rosenborg, even though he was a failure in that position when he tried last year.
But an even bigger surprise is the fact that Nordvik will be the left back. The U21 international has started only one league match ever for RBK and haven't played a single minute in European cups. He will be the big element of uncertainty tomorrow.
The line-up:
Rune Jarstein
Fredrik Stoor - Bjørn Tore Kvarme - Vadim Demidov - Andreas Nordvik
Per Ciljan Skjelbred - Roar Strand - Abdou Traoré
Marek Sapara
Steffen Iversen - Yssuof Koné

Or is it becouse of his speed? For me it seems like that was the factor that made Henriksen choose him. _________________ Det er bedre å stupe ut i smørøyet enn å gå rundt grøten! |

Speed is, as far as I've read, the official reason from coach Henriksen.
Could be, though, they just consider Nordvik/Traoré as left back/left midfielder a better combo than Traoré/Storflor (or possibly Konan) in the same positions.
Storflor hasn't been great so far this year, while Traoré imo is better as a midfielder than a back, where he doesn't have as much experience. |

Rune Jarstein and Vadim Demidov are also inexperienced!
But the mayan factor that Nordvik and Strand (plays in central midfield in this match, but normally he plays in the right side in midfield) is playing, is because of Alexander Tetteys injury. _________________ - Rune Hauge er ingen kjeltring, men tvert i mot en grepa kar. Just seen the highlights on Eurosport a few minutes back. Seemed like Fiorentina were in control of the game apart from one moment where Kone hit the post. Naturally we were slower and obviously not fully match fit.
Can't comment on Nordvik but Mark Clattenburg didn't really look like he was too welcome at Lerkendal.
10,500 - Not the best attendance tonight. |
