אין לנו סיכוי לעבור אותם.
לרמת גן לא יגיעו יותר מ10 אלף
והם יקרעו אותנו בשני המשחקים:
Now in english:
rosenborg gonna crush us.
we dont play on our own field: we play on ramat gan(100 km from haifa).
there is no chance that more than 10000 will come to see the game.
"ramat gan" stad' is the worst,HAIFA PLAYERS HATE THIS FIELD!
rosenborg will win in both games!
u play 17 games so far we 1(today),ur shape is better!
so rosenborg, good luck in CL
OREN. |

Don't beat up on yourselves. I still think it will be close. We haven't been stable this year, so you still got a chance. Our boys aren't taking anything for granted.
I still believe we will win, but we won't crush you! _________________ Svein Sjovold |

I have to agree with my old pal Sjøvold here.
From what very little I know of Maccabi Haifa, I would deem the two teams to be about equally strong. Your players do probably have better individual skills; our team do probably have a better organizing and cooperation. Most likely, the fact that we are in the middle of the season gives us some advantage.
Before the matches, I would think that we will see two pretty even games, with RBK dominating slightly at home and MH being somewhat stronger in Israel.
It would surprise me if Rosenborg were to run over Maccabi Haifa, or if MH were to outclass Rosenborg. It could of course happen that one of the teams turns out to be significantly better... very hard to say as we don't know eachother's teams at all.
So, my prediction is still, very equal games result-wise; you might outplay us somewhat at times due to better skills; tough, you won't have many more chances, if any. 55 % for us to win |

Maccabi Haifa seems to have a record quite similar to Rosenborg's, really -- some great wins against big European teams, and some equally great losses. Haifa knocked PSG out of the UEFA Cup in 98/99, while Rosenborg lost 7-1 to PSG in Paris the next season (or was it the season after?).
Statistically, though, Rosenborg does definitely have a better record -- particularly in the qualifiers. So I think we're a better team and should win the cumulative, but I don't expect it to be easy. Maybe comparable to meeting Red Star last year? |
It was 7-2, not 7-1. Well, embarrassing anyway. |

This is getting incredibly tiresome.... every group of Sunday leaguer footballers feel they can come on this forum and state they can beat us! Please.... I know everyone is passionate about the club they support but let's be reasonable if Rosenborg were playing Arsenal in the CL I wouldn't go on that club site and start foaming at the mouth that we were going to kill Arsenal and advance...let's be realistic sure on a given day we could beat Arsenal but the odds over 2 legs is that we would lose. M. Haifa you won't defeat us it won't be easy but over 2 legs we will win. As for the comment a few posts earlier, M. Haifa you are not as good as Red Star Belgrade....sorry. |

Lillestom is one of the best clubs in norway beside Rosenborg. Lillestom is currently on 3rd place in Norwegian Tippeligaen. _________________ Kvit og Svart, Alltid! |

RBKcanada,
i can pnly pray that rosenborg players will think like you...
if they do, you are to be very very surprised.
no one is saying maccabi haifa is a better team. i don't think that anyone believes it.
but coming as underdogs is our specialty, so any disrespect or contempt by rosenborg will be used against yourselves...
i truly think that rosenborg are a tough team to beat, but seeing the alternatives (real madrid, manchester united), we were happy to be drawn against you.
UNDERestimate us, please do, because once you will, you lose. |

The good thing is that I am not a player and just a supporter like you who can sometimes get a little crazy. I don't think the Rosenborg players will underestimate M. Haifa. I think we are too modest for that. I agree that it could have been a lot worse for M. Haifa but it could have been worse for us as well. |

not going over my head,
i just want to know who didn't you want to get over maccabi haifa.
since we were on both sides of the draw, i don't know what your options were (naturally i wasn't intrested in that at the time)...
and BECAUSE you are a supporter, you should inderstand the fans who believe their team is the best on the plantet.
deep down, we all think that... not rational, but who says football is?... |

Well I think you are correct being a seeded team we don't really fear anyone but having to possibly play Benfica or Anderlecht (I don't recall who was unseeded) might have been worse than you and I'm just going by memory here as who was unseeded but Basel, CSKA Moscow, Red Star Belgrade, Dinamo Bucarest and Shakhtar Donetsk would probably all have been slightly worse for us. True we all think our teams are the best. |

Red Star Belgrade was one of the big teams of the 80's and early 90's in Jugoslavia. but they're not as good as they once were.
Rosenborg are underdogs in europe as well. We share a lot of similarities with Maccabi Haifa. Both are solid, hard-playing teams from small soccer nations that have a handful of impressive results against european giants, but overall have not reached the top (like a semifinal or final of a uefa cup or champion's league). It will be interesting. We know we have to play you as equals, and be at the top of our game. In that sense, 4-1 against the 3rd best team in norway was a nice warm-up. _________________ Svein Sjovold |

The Red Star of Belgrade is a curious team name, as each language seems to have their own version of it (translation of "red star"). In Serbia they are known as FK Crvena zvezda; in English, Red Star; in Norwegian, Røde Stjerne, etc.
They currently hold the 82nd place on the UEFA team coefficient list (on which Maccabi Haifa holds the 91st place and RBK on 54th).

Old history is very nice, something to be proud of. However, it doesn't matter much for the current matches.
I can recite history too:
------------------------------
Maccabi Haifa 91
Real Madrid 1
We did beat Real Madrid 2-0 at home.
------------------------------
Maccabi Haifa 91
AC Milan 5
We did beat AC Milan 1-2 at San Siro.
------------------------------
Maccabi Haifa 91
Deportivo la Coruña 6
We held Deportivo to 0-0 at home.
------------------------------
Maccabi Haifa 91
FC Porto 8
We did beat Porto 2-0 at home and held them to 1-1 in Porto.
Etc.
As for Olympiakos, we have beat them senseless with 5-1 home / 2-2 away. Paris st. Germain - ssshhh....
Anyway, history does not matter very much.
And if it does, we win |

But you're not in season and we're peaking. That's the secret behind RBK getting into the champion's league 7 years in a row. If we started our season in august, like everybody else, we would never have made it into the champion's league in the first place (sad, but true!) _________________ Svein Sjovold |
